I have a 42 HDTV Vizio for a few days You might have a connector that simply came unplugged or is partly plugged in causing your problem. I would suggest doing this lay a blanket on a table, then lay the TV face down on the blanket. You have to remove all the screws on the back cover and the stand mounting off of it. Once you get that done, remove the cover. Follow the pushbuttons on your TV set and follow the wire connecting it to the MAIN board that has all of the input jacks on it. That your main board. Now look at the wire connectors if they are cocked or not connected, just push the connector back on, they usually have a little lever on them that lock it onto the socket. Check them, as that is the only thing that would cause a NEW TV set to suddenly lose control of the pushbuttons and IR reciever. Usually the IR receiver is also connected to that same wire for the pushbuttons, so if you lose operations from BOTH, that what I usually see on them.
